I have 2 week old babies... and 2 of them are losing their feathers around their mouth. It's sticky there also. I'm just wondering if any of you know of this... I'd hate to have my whole 7 chicks have something that would wipe them out.
Thanks
She died in my arms and I'm heartbroken....
When I look at true Aracucana's they don't look like the one I had.. maybe she was part Americana ...
I now have my 2 year old Silver Wyandotte and black and gold Polish...
I'm thinking of getting 4 more Aracucana babies... how long will I need to...
...they have lost every single tail feather is this normal molting? Will it come back? It's just on one of my chickens all the rest have kept their tail feathers during this molt.
Inquiring mind would like to know....
I know chickens are flocks by nature but do you think it's possible to just keep one chicken? Would she be lonely?
Please if anyone has any idea I'd be happy to hear. For or against it.
Thanks~
I found a chicken a very nice one probably about a year old. I've tried to find her home but to no avail... My flock is a year and a half.... what's the best way to introduce her to the rest of the hens (molting by the way)
Thanks:hu~
My favorite hen started her molt and I noticed she was losing all of her feathers. The other 5 were losing a few at a time but my golden wyandotte was losing all of hers.
2 Days ago, the 5 hens started pinning her down and pecking at her unmercifully. Chasing her and pinning her down ~ It was...
I know my flock is molting by seeing a few feathers here and there. But my golden wyandotte is losing all of her feathers!!!! I can pick the feathers right off her... no problem. She shakes and the feathers fly.
She a year and a half. I know she's not picked on.
Does anyone know what this...
SO now I have more or less grown birds that I let free roam in my yard (an extra lot). I love them to be free roaming.... BUT the chicken poop is so much I have a hard time with it! What do you all do about it if it's all over your grass??? And deck??? And back porch???
My husband wants to...
My chickens have started laying eggs... a few anyway.
Well, one of these gals is laying her egg on the floor instead of the nesting box. Needless to say it's broken.
Anyone have a answer on how to correct this?
On the coop and run does that mean they are molting? No feathers missing one any of the girls... And if they are molting does that mean they will lay eggs soon?
I'm keeping all the feathers... Just like I kept my son's baby teeth.
My babies are 10 weeks old today....
I don't know why I feel so sad that my chicks don't want any thing to do with me.
I give them treats out of my garden....
I held them every day and talked to them (had to they were in my bathroom) when they were babies.
I make mash and have them come...
Mine look like mutts of their breed.....
I have a silkie that looks nothing like the silkies I see on here... not even close.
My polish ~ one has a comb over (Ok pretty cute) and the other does look like a polish.
I did have an EE (turned out to be a rooster) but he looked like none I mean...
I had to get of two rooster (thread: Well I have to get rid of my rooster)
I do feel terrible
Now my 6 hens are in a frenzy, and won't let me near them (do they really think I'm going to find other homes?) I go in one place they all hurry to another place. They won't eat watermelon out of my...
