    New Americauna!

    Our baby americauna hatched yesterday!!! She is beautiful! I named her Lucy (lu-lu). I've been practicing the art of feather sexing, and believe I've FINALLY got it down! She's definitely a female! Here's a picture of my darling lucy! ADORABLE!!!!!

    What time of day do you collect eggs? I usually get 2 eggs a day, 1 from my BO Ginger, and 1 from my RIR Ruby. I've thought about letting the eggs sit until I go to lock everyone up at night. What do you do?

    Hatch Day!!

    Well, I guess today decided to be a hatch day! For both my silkie and my RIR! I wasn't expecting my RIR to hatch until at least friday! sat down at the computer and I heard way too much peeping! looked in the incubator and PIPPED!!!!! WOOHOO!!!! My first silkie! I'm super excited.

    Good place for "new" coop?? (pic)

    Here is the area we have been considering for our new area for the chicken coop. 1/2 dirt 1/2 grass, underneath the patio, cool, shaded, this is the place EVERYONE congregates (chickens that is), and over all, its the best place there in a cross breeze. Let me know what you think!!!

    Well, no one has laid any eggs since July 2nd!! What is going on!!?!?!? Ugh!     What do you call your eggs??? I know a few people around here call them different names, or I'm just from somewhere people are strange! Anywho! I call them cackle berries. My grandfather used to tell me that if I didn't eat all my cackle berries, his rooster would go after me!!! Haha!!!
