Hi guys. Yeah I do have some "extra" birds this year. I have pairs and extra males available. They are bantam mottled and hatched later in the spring. Chris

Just for comparison, these 2 are the same age, just white. It's pretty easy to see the ckl compared to the pullet.

    NY chicken lover!!!!

I was asked about this bird on my FB page, not knowing the age I said cockerel but knowing it's over 4 weeks old I am going to say pullet. We raise 100's of bantam Cochins a year so I'm pretty sure on my guess. BTW, hi everybody. Been a while. Busy busy busy. Chris

Yes, these are blue mottled, my actual show birds. I'll have a better idea of who leaves and who stays around Jan/Feb. We made the decision this year to not sell chicks or eggs just to be sure we only sell quality birds, bred to the SOP.

The parents. The chick's aren't as easy to get pics of yet. As expected from blue to blue, I got every shade of blue. Some will be too light to keep and some will be entirely too dark to keep.

So I realized I'm like 15 pages behind. I'm not even going to try to catch up. Here's a few of next year's show birds hopefully. Only time will tell. We only hatched 6 of the whites and 20 or more blue mottled. With any luck a few of them will be show worthy.

Looks great Sam. It's already come a long way from what it originally looked like.

We have one of those too. I've only had to use it once this year, early in the summer. Worked great.

Believe it or not, we did meet and didn't even know it :-) I was talking to you when you were waiting for the judge to show up. I had a brown Carhart jacket and a black beanie hat on that said B&B Albany Pallet. You've got very nice Orloffs.

What kind of cochins are you looking for? LF or bantam and what color. We raise exhibition bantams in a few different varieties.

It was definitely chilly. Had a good time yesterday and we did well in the show. 3 firsts, 1 best variety and 1 reserve variety. Good to see you guys yesterday.

Danielle and I will be there. Look for us in the Cochin isle. We're only bringing 3 since everyone else decided to molt.

I don't know where the original post is but why not cochins? The LF cochins are good layers and gentle. Roosters will get around 10-11lbs, plenty large. Hens will be around the 8-9lb range. I don't have any mean cochins here, I can go out to the pens and snatch up any one of them with no issues...

Those are the ones. Splash cockerel over blue pullets. I don't want anything for them. I don't have any plans to hatch from them this year. I'm all done AI'ing the bantams for the year so I'm done hatching them too. The incubator should finally shut off in a few weeks.
