how far along are you in the construction of your coop, what is done and what needs to be done?

RidgeRunner, My chickens are aprox 5 months old, Does that make them pullets? since I have not had any extra light to this point, will they get confused if I just turn a light on all of the sudden?

do any of you chicken folk here in CT add extra light to get eggs and what hours do you have your timmer set for? early morning or evenning?

I have been told to add several hours of additional light to the coop to promote egg production. My question is: is it better to add extra hours early in the morning say around 3:00am or in the evenning from 6 - 10pm? Any help would be great.

see beth, you have to figure out how to get the chickens to work for you. They go out and bring home the bacon and you still get the eggs...Such a deal.. all you need to do is figure out what they can do, that people will pay for.:clap
