Well, it's been ages since I posted on BYC. I'd love to join Easter Hatch-A-Long! I should have 40-ish araucana eggs by then. I'll be picking up 3 dozen on Friday, & I'll have maybe a dozen from my own hens by Saturday.
Good luck everyone!
Yep they need 4 weeks and more humidity I just set second batch of guineas getting ready for the peafowl eggs'
Such cute little stripies!
good luck with your guineas. And I'd love to hear more about the peafowl eggs - when are you thinking about setting them?
peepeepeep!
Yeah, baby chicks in the bedroom can be crazy-making..
I just set my very first guinea eggs - I've never hatched guineas before, so it's eggsiting! They're in a bator full of chicken eggs. From what I understand, the incubation is basically the same, except guineas take a week...
Remember the IT chicks? Well, they're still in the office. I didn't want to bring the incubator back home over my bumpy dirt road.
And because we're computer geeks, we set up a webcam feed to stream to the local kindergarten. The kindergarteners already stopped by to see the eggs in person...
Yeah, that's definitely a quitter. it looks like it developed to about day 5 - 7 & quit. The second one looks good, tho.
Hope you gave them a lecture about crying bobcat! There's no going back to sleep after something like that...
