Should I continue to let the broody hen hatch it or pull it and toss it? Saturday is day 20.

What was crossed with ameraucana to get the pattern. Kinda looks like tufts I have heard it has popped up but you may want to ask jerry on the ameraucana thread

How disheartening!  Its very sad when something dies that you have worked so hard to save!
I always say chickens are naughty!


Let us know how that goes!  Hopefully that mottling gene comes through    If it does, I'm more than happy to drive up there and buy eggs or chicks if you decide to sell some.

The most bizzare thing. Woke up to chicken screams in the night. No hurt or missing chickens. Mario thinks a mouse might have been after princess ff eggs or the bobcat shook the cage. Im shot with adrenaline and and relief. No idea what happened! !

Chickens are so funny like that! They have gone off here like that but not too often.

There is no Bobcat though....

Yeah, that's definitely a quitter. it looks like it developed to about day 5 - 7 & quit. The second one looks good, tho.

Hope you gave them a lecture about crying bobcat! There's no going back to sleep after something like that...
