Thank you.
I have changed my mind and am going to buy a NH Red rooster with my next purchase of chicks in the spring
(I don't see an option to lock/cancel this thread)
I don't know why, but I didn't get notified of your reply to my thread.
How old is he? Is he still available?
I was about to give up on this (especially since someone already stood me up) and order one with some other birds this spring...
Hi,
I live in Maine and I'm looking for a mature Rhode Island Red or New Hampshire Red Rooster.
Free is always nice, but I'm will to pay a couple bucks and shipping (if necessary) of course.
Thanks!

This is the best, cleanest way to water chickens (and its pretty cheap and easy):

With my chicks I just make a smaller version for the brooder with a plastic Folgers coffee can
That's all I use... best things ever. I use a 5 gallon bucket and four 360 degree Superflow nipples in the bottom and hang it from the ceiling of the coop; it has a sealed lid on top of the bucket (bought the lid at Lowes) with a hole that I have the hose stuck into to fill... water always stays...
White lobes
Legs are not green, more like yellow and have no feathers on them
I am working on getting better pictures... the comb is a walnut comb I believe.
Murray McMurray sells 'rare exotic breeds' and this is what this was from... are they just mixed breeds (EE or the like) and they give...
I know what an easter egger is... thanks.
I don't think that's the case with this one... like i said in my last post.. when he is standing up with neck straight out and his tail is shooting up and out he looks alot diff... this was the best picture I had though.
Thanks, but I don't do facebook...
I just looked at a Golden Penciled Hamburgs and it looks similar... this picture doesn't really do it justice; when you see him standing on the ground with his head pointing up and tail out he looks different..
Can anyone tell me what breed this Roo is?
He is purebred from Murray McMurray Hatchery... one of the rare breed chicks they throw in with all orders for free.
Thanks!
I'm in Waterboro... My coop is 8X8 on a slant with open soffits (for ventilation) . No insulation; 20 Birds... never have an issue.
Got down to -14 at my house so far this year.
EDIT: guess I'm replying to a post in this thread 630 pages ago... LOL did not realize that..
