My turkeys and chickens do just fine together. I haven't noticed any problems and they have been with each other for about 9 months. I have turkeys for fun. I love to watch them and listen to their noises. Even though, I didn't know they were so vocal!
Thank you so much. I really enjoy watching my Turkeys and Chickens. I love figuring out what they like and keeping them busy. This is the first time I have had turkeys and I love them.
I have finally (after many, many tries) built a Turkey house that they will stay in at night. Every night I lock my Turkeys up with the chickens. They are in a lot that is covered and buried in the ground. We have quite a few predators in the woods. My chickens go into their chicken house to...
I don't have enough room in my chicken house for a waterer. I have it outside. I have read abou the heated base and it says to keep inside. Has anyone tried it outside? Or what can I use outside to heat a metal chicken waterer.
Yesterday, one of my hens got out of her pen and the dog got her. I thought she was dead, but I think in shock. I seperated her from the flock and checked on her a little later. She was up, but her left wing was dragging. If her wing is broken can it heal?
My turkeys won't stay in the chicken house or in the house I built them. They like to stay outside high on a perch. They are safe and secure, but can I use ust a tarp for protection. They don't seem to like anything I build! this is at night.
I hatched some white silkie's about 5 months ago. They take quite awhile to figure out who is who! Well I have ended up with 3 roosters. I am located in Statesville, North Carolina if anyone is interested in taking a rooster and hen silkie. Not sure if this is the right place to post this...
Lately my questions have either gone unanswered or 1 comment and link me to a page! I love this site, but feel like questions are being lost in the shuffle of getting bigger!
:lol:Maybe, I could put Justin Beber in the CD player and scare him away!!! Just kidding. I do like him. Beber was the only name I could think of that everyone would know:)
At first glance it looks like a siamese cat! But the tail is thicker and longer. Not fox like. I'm a little late in the conversation, but thought it was interesting.
This may be a silly question, but do Silkies like to roost? My silkies were hatched and raised in a dog house. They seem to prefer sleeping in there. I thought they would follow the other chickens into the chicken house and roost with them. Maybe the other chickens are intimidating them and...
After reading these posts and others I have decided to rehomea pair of my ducks. I have a friend with a pond on their land and want ducks. I have an extra drake that flew in also. I may send him too. There might be other females for him. Tough decision, but I don't want my females beat up on!
I am discouraged about my ducks too. I have 2 drakes and 2 hens. I also recently acquired a mallard drake that flew in to make himself at home. Don't know what to do. I thought the 2 to 2 would work good, but some say it won't. Don't know what to do.
