I have 3 day old silkie chicks and I’m not sure what colors they’re supposed to be. The hatching eggs came from a silkie flock that was just mixed colors.
I brought her (hopefully its a girl) in today and tried to get a few pictures but she mostly wanted to sleep. Its looked like this since she hatched, just not as bad.
I havent made my mind up but I'll probably just put it down... I really hate to but today i brought her/him inside and even though it didnt look like it was in pain i really dont know how itll survive with my other chickens once it gets older. If i thought it would be alright i wouldnt but i...
About 2 weeks ago i hatched off about 10 silkie chicks. Two had splayed leg which i took care of by putting their legs together with a bandaid, within 2 days they were better and walking normally. One had something much worse wrong with it. I treated it for splayed leg because i thought thats...
My mom said she would take me to get some tomorrow. The mosquitoes and awful around here...
Do you think it would help a sinus infection, the vet gave me some medicine and it never seemed to help, now at least 5 have it :/
Ive separated her and put her with my silkies who I've never seen aggression out of.. They fall in love with any new chickens and she was housed with then when we first got her.
Thanks! I went out and checked on her this morning and she was eating some watermelon and bread. Her eye was draining pretty bad so i cleaned it up and put some neosporin on it. She acted a lot better today. She was dusting and scratching around, so she's improved from yesterday.
I went out yesterday to feed and water my chickens and my little Barred Rock mix seemed perfectly fine, well after i got from school today I went to check on them and i found one of my older girls on top of her pecking her head. Once she saw me she let her go and ran to the door for treats. My...
Its not even a day old. I used some cardboard and cut out little toes in the center and took the stick part of a bandaid and put it on the bottom and lined the toes up, then taped them down. But it didn't seem to like it very much and i didn't wanna hurt it by doing that so i took them off.
Just wondering, i know you probably can't help me, but i had a solid white one hatch and its toes curve in.. It walks on the sides of them pretty well, i don't know if i should leave it or put boots on them and try to straighten them out. Any suggestions?
