So I ordered 50 button quail eggs from a group on yahoo. I lost 5 in transport, 3 were duds, and less than half of the ones left hatched. Since then I have lost 3. They are just over 2 weeks old and I am looking for a better place to purchase button quail eggs in case I want to hatch them again.

My BQ eggs go into lock down tomorrow and I was candeling the white ones and I saw movement! It is beyond cool!

So I have button quail going into lockdown tomorrow and I am confused as to their living arrangement when they are older and out of the brooder. I have read where I should only have 2 to a cage but then I also see where people raise them in groups. I can't decide on what kind of cage to build, lol

I don't know if you can tell from this picture because I just can't figure out the sexes. They all look alike to me and I can't vent sex without getting pooped on. Lol

At the feed store yesterday I was talking to a lady who used to raise quail and she said that she would sex them at about 2 weeks on size since females are bigger them males at that point. Is that true or just coincidence.

I put 18 eggs from my quails in the incubator thinking that if I was lucky a few would be fertile. I just candled them and only 1 is a dud so far I'm shocked but happy!
