    Help! Weak floppy pullet

Do you have Corid? There are many great threads on here with coccidiosis treatment protocol. If you have Corid, I suggest “drenching” the one presenting illness and give the others Corid water, just as a precaution. Coccidiosis strikes very quickly and will take out your whole flock before you...

    Help! Weak floppy pullet

Could it be coccidiosis? Are her wings droopy? Did you give them medicated starter or a coccidiosis vaccine?

Help! Treating a possum bite wound

Not a great image--I wanted to let her chill out after the injection, which she was not happy about. the orange hue is from the iodine I used this AM (it was the only thing I had on hand).

Help! Treating a possum bite wound

I was able to get Penicillin G and Microcyn for poultry at Tractor Supply. I gave her 0.25cc intramuscularly and cleaned the wound with microcyn and applied a triple antibiotic cream. She's really listless.

Help! Treating a possum bite wound

A small possum dug into our coop at 3 am this morning. It killed one of my 12 week old pullets and maimed another. She has several deep bites on her tail. Of course it's Sunday and the vets are all closed, but is there an injectable antibiotic that I could get at Tractor Supply, like Durvet...

I need help integrating chicks into my flock!!

I use a similar technique for integrating, but I would never attempt it before 12 weeks, or when the younger ones are at least 75% grown. Otherwise they are not strong enough.

    moving on up... houston--->new orleans

We are longtime urban chicken enthusiasts with 4 birds currently: 2 EE's, 1 naked neck, and 1 stray hen who randomly found and moved into our coop 5 years ago. we are moving to new orleans next week and looking for local resources, such as vet, feed store, and possibly someone local to help...

Hey dere! We’re new, I guess.

Which vet? We are new to New Orleans and don't have a poultry vet but would love to have one on file for future reference! Good luck to your eggbound hen.

lethargic hen not eating, has green runny poop, laying weird eggs

Her crop is empty, and it's mid-afternoon. I went ahead and did a treatment for impacted crop, giving her a syringe of olive oil followed by upward-motion crop massage. She really enjoyed it, but I don't feel much in her crop. She is standing occasionally and trying to get at her vent with her...

lethargic hen not eating, has green runny poop, laying weird eggs

hi everyone, i have a hen who's about 2 or 3 years old who has been looking steadily scrawnier lately but behaving normally until two days ago, when she confined herself to the nest box in the coop, only venturing out for food occasionally. Today I wormed her with Wazine and checked her for...

    please help identify this parasite!

Thanks! I kept reading and found out I could have treated them with food-grade diatomaceous earth, Orange Guard, and a new dust bath mix, but not before I rushed out and coated them with Selvin. Ew.

    please help identify this parasite!

I am not sure if these are lice or mite eggs. I think mites, since they are not around the base, but I'm not sure. I live in hot, humid Houston, TX. I also noticed some light brown insects on one of my other hens, who does not have these eggs on her feather. Help! What is this...

    Chicken breathing weird

That sounds a lot like a condition one of my older hens has had on and off since for the past six months. Vet checked her out, put her on antibiotics, no change. Kept her inside during the winter, which seemed to help, but she's back to wheezing lately. She's eating and drinking normally, but...
