Hi Everyone!
OMG! They are adorable! I ended up getting 6 Rhode Island Reds aged at 2 weeks. I am told they are all female... we'll see! They are comfy at home and this is the page that I will post their pictures on as they grow. I have named one... the littlest... Penelope. I have no idea...
Hi guys! Any advice on gender here? This lil' baby got attacked by a fox just after we took these. It was behind my other 4 ~ protecting? (We let our chickens free range.

Geez! I'm soooo looking forward to seeing you win this! Your letter addresses any concerns I could see them coming up with. As my mom always taught me... The best defense is a good offense.
BEST OF LUCK TO YOU TODAY! Please post how it goes!
Hi and thanks for the response! I googled a bit more looking for a wild life rehabber near us (I'm a worry wart and didn't want to leave them to die...) and found a TERRIFIC article. Visit: http://www.npwrc.usgs.gov/about/faqs/birds/nestpot/nest.htm
It's nice to have the 'net... as even...
Where I work we have a rather large natural pond. It is on a mid to heavy trafficked, commercial roadway... but is a country setting. We have wild geese annually and their babies as well as a few pair of mallards.
There is a nest between our pond and the road (ONLY about 5 feet from the...

Adorable!
I just picked mine up yesterday at Agway. I was told 2 weeks old RIR's. They look just like yours! 3 of mine are roosting... I hope they're RIR's because we wanted them for the eggs!
I just brought my first chicks home tonight. My main reason is that I've wanted chickens FOREVER. The second reason is economy... gardening fertilizer... going green... the whole bit! Agway (where I got my 6 two week old RIR's) told me that they aren't getting any more in because they are...
Thanks soooo much everyone!
I moved the lamp up about 3 feet and put a thermometer in. The heat went from 98 to 92 within about 10 mins. The chicks are spread out... and VERY chirpy! LOL!
They are making me laugh like crazy!! My son (9) doesn't know I got them yet... he's with his dad...
I just got home from Agway with my 6 RIR chicks and it is sooooo hot with the lamp they recommended I was SWEATING! Can it be too hot for the babies?? I'm not sure (I'm a NEW, first time chicken owner!) if they will overheat... I'd really appreciate some tips! BOY does it seem HOT! I didn't...
Thank you to all of you, AGAIN!
They're home!!!!!! I am sooooo excited! Please visit my pages... I am posting pics of the babies in their new home (my bedroom for now! LOL!).
