Is this gleet? pic included *ick*

Thank you both so much! We are fairly new to chickens and I haven't checked her for mites or lice. I'm overwhelmed with possibilities right now. I guess we will start by bathing her and separating her.

Is this gleet? pic included *ick*

I haven't but we don't observe them much when they are in the run, only when they free range. I have seen HER pecking and grabbing other hens occasionally though. In your opinion, does it look like an injury and not a parasite, bacteria, or fungus? I'm not sure if those are new feathers or...

Thanks Mrs. B! If I bring her in for a few days, will the others pick on her when she's reintroduced?

Thank you. Yes we will have to check into that. Can worms affect just one hen in a flock?

All of our other chickens have healthy fluffy rears. So wash her, apply monistat, maybe ACV in the water?

What predator is killing your chickens?

Our property is surrounded by orange groves. We originally thought coon but reading the details on coon attacks it doesn't match up. I think you're right! Now, how to keep it away.

What predator is killing your chickens?

A heavy duty welded wire. It was pulled and bent where two pieces met.

What predator is killing your chickens?

Any ideas on what would scale a 6ft run, pull apart the fencing on the roof and pluck a rooster from his roost? Only a trail of feathers was left behind.

By securely, I meant that they'd be in a temporary run and supervised. Thanks everyone!! We will have our first field trip tomorrow then. ;)

    Age for outdoor exploration?

I live in FL and temps are still in the high 80's- low 90's. At what age can our chicks (securely) explore the outdoors?

Poop on feathers - vent clear

I'm fairly new to chicken farming too but have read that Vaseline helps. Hopefully someone can confirm this or suggest something else. I read to stay away from oils because they go rancid.

6 day old chicks and a bully already!? please help!

He/she is a golden yellow and just seemed so different from the time they arrived. My husband swears its a roo. I'm hoping its just a hen with an attitude and we can fix it. I don't want any roosters and the 2 EE hens were my pick. :(

6 day old chicks and a bully already!? please help!

So, my favorite chick..an EE.. is turning out to be a bully. From day one 'she' (maybe a roo??) Has had a standout personality. She always makes eye contact with us when we get close to the brooder, is the biggest, and just seems to be at the top of the order. Well, today I noticed that she is...
