I'm glad you got a fair price on those cute babies. I hope you have lots of room for them to run and play. it's the only way that they will be strong and healthy. I am on my 3rd Emu hatch now, unfortunately not for me. I'm in the city and am again hatching for someone that has the proper room...

Have you ever considered purchasing eggs from a reputable breeder? Egg season is just about over for the year but some are still available. Mostly overpriced though. I would think emus that are with you from day one would be easier to keep mild mannered, but I really wouldn't know for sure...

Did people lose interest in emus in 2013, or is there a new thread that I am missing? I will keep searching.

If the trap is in their run, they will go in. bait or no bait. greens work good for bait however. Bok Choi in a small pot has always worked when their paths were not noticeable yet. They do sooo much damage to a garden.

Is cracked corn with weevils safe?

Right, feed it to them soon. Weevils are good protien, weevil poop in moderate concentrations can't be good. In my non medical opinion.

There are still quite a lot of good people here on this thread. I'm new to BYC, but I have been helped a lot in the last couple of weeks. Not new to raising birds, and not new to internet trolls and baiters, and it amazes me that people would even bother with us. This does not refer to any valid...

Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I ended up going to TSC, and that saved me a good deal of money over what I was paying at Soldans. (60% less) If you are getting a well balanced organic feed for that price you are doing very well. i think the organic layer feed at TSC was around $43 or $45 for 50 pounds. If your birds are doing...

Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Thank you all for your replies, I knew there had to be some places nearby to buy larger quantities. I have been buying small bags at Soldans, but they have been out of stock or too high priced on the sizes over 5 and 10 pounds. I will surely be able to get some larger sizes this weekend. I did...

Hi, I am a new member here, and am looking for a good source of feed for pre-laying pullets near lansing, Mi. I have done a lot of searches on this forum without much luck. I am paying way too much currently, so if anyone in the area can help it would be appreciated. I am looking for 25 to 50...
