Smoked Salmon makes a great school snack for our son... good brain food.
I'd like to keep it "in the Family" by buying it from a BYC'er.
Thanks,
Laurie
Timeshare at The Cliffs at Princeville, 1 Bedroom condo unit, King size bed, 2 sleeper couches, full kitchen, pool, tennis, Hanalei Bay just down the road.
We have more time than we can use this year. We also have some deposited with Interval International, so can book elsewhere on request...
Someone at work was going to use our timeshare June 6-13 and backed out... we can't go... it's at The Cliffs at Princeville, 1 Bedroom unit, King size bed, 2 sleeper couches, full kitchen, pool, tennis, Hanalei Bay just down the road.
Please can someone use it?
We're flying Alaska Air from Santa Rosa, CA to Seattle & back (short trip), and might have the chance to bring home some special eggs.
Has anyone done this with the new TSA regulations? I'd love to up my odds of a good hatch by carrying them myself.
Thanks in advance!
My dog went running & barking out to his usual spot to sniff & bark, where we caught a raccoon and her family (for whom she had killed 2/3 of my chickens) about 6 YEARS ago (before this dog was born), and I could swear I heard a classic Raccoon 'chitter' sound coming from the outbuilding there...
The eggs were labeled Light Brahma, and were the first to hatch. Nice vigorous chicks, but the pics of these on feathersite are yellow.
ty for any and all input... and if anyone can tell gender I'll be forever grateful
My mom gave this to me during the Newcastle outbreak several years ago; my uncle had given it to her and she hadn't used it, but she lived in Norco, which was close to ground zero for Newcastle if I remember correctly. Sooo, I quadruple bagged it and a friend piped ozone from his spa...
It wasn't the one with Angelina, it's an older version, but I had to post it because I loved the Icelandic Ponies in it! They just glide when they move. They were hard on their mouths in a shot or two, but mostly pretty good to them.
Sad story
The boys got into it today... no more free ranging for Cornelius! ETA in retrospect (& observation) I think Corny was only defending himself.
The pubescent roo has a quarter sized flap torn loose on one wattle, see crude pic. If it were my skin I'd tape it down to at least protect the...
I'm seeing one chick stay uniform nutmeg color, and another is beginning to separate out to orange saddle & neck feathers... eeep no pics yet, tomorrow, ok?
the two with what I call 'quail stripes' are staying the same. The orangy one looks like he might turn out like Hattrick's roo halfway...
I think I have chick fever....I offered, in an ad for my chicks, to 'custom' hatch for folks who want chicks they can't find locally. I have no idea what to charge.
Has anyone done this? Our elec. is our own solar panels... we make more than we need in the Summer, and it balances Winter...
I bought Diatomaceous Earth (DE), food grade, to put in dust baths & around the coop to combat mites & lice.
Some folks have written that they take it in water or yogurt themselves, and add it to animal feed.
To avoid the inhaled dust, I'd like to add it to the goat and chicken water.
Anyone...
I now have 100# of DE. One lifetime supply? or more?
I asked DH to buy some at the feed store. He bought a 50# bag, Celatom diatomite, from Reno, for ~$25
I didn't think it was the 'good' kind so I ordered a 50# bag from AzureStandard (just started with them...LOVE 'em) for $17... it is the...
I want to keep my babies in the R-Com for now. We have 4 loverly Silkies; 3 BBS and one Partridge.
There seems to be plenty of room in there for now. There is one egg to go so we may have 5 tomorrow. It's so cold in the porch where the brooder would go!
Has anyone done this with a bator...
Is it a bad idea to cross bantam with standard Salmon Faverolles? We have 4 standard pullets, and are about to get a bantam roo. We like the idea of full sized eggs, so we might not hatch any of this cross, but I'm wondering anyway. Call it hatch fever!
sorry no pics showed it, but on 2 of my eggs, at 7 days, I see one long red line, slightly wavy, that I hope is a vein but fear might be a ring. It runs lengthwise for about the middle third of the egg. Maybe the other veins are just shy?
Do blood rings show as a full ring or sometimes only...
I've free ranged and never known about grit, for ~10 years. I hope they got enough roughage on their own.
We just put a sand floor in the coop, and got a half yard of DG in the process. I was going to use for the floor and was told to have something soft for the new Barnevelders in case they...
Just FYI-

I tried to order yesterday but it kept adding shipping... got email back today saying she's working on that with ups and refunding when folks get charged.... went to buy it and the price was suddenly $20 lower than...
I'm still deciding what to get.. the R-com KIng Suro, the R-com digital 20, a Brinsea, and now this ReptiPro 5000 pops up on search.
It has a nice window, but nothing comes up in BYC search. That alone makes me suspicious.
Stable temp & humidity are #1 for me, closely followed by cost & counter...
