Ok so I rescued two silkies bantams and my girls do not like them at all. They are in kennels in the run for now. Does anyone have experience introducing bantams into a big chicken flock, or is building a separate coop inevitable?
Sooooo haven't been on in awhile. All my ladies are so big and doing great :-D my duckies (one Drake) are good too, now just waiting patiently(kinda) for eggs! We are new to this.. when did my fellow RI'nders start seeing eggs from their chicks and ducks? Just curious!
I came home yesterday to my poor beautiful boy really beat up. I thought he was missing his eyes but they are just severly injured. He has a cut on his beak and the side of his face. He is eating and drinking when I physically put it in front of him. I cleaned him up and put triple antibiotic on...

Well here is a link anyways, maybe it will work these are my 6 week old girls! They are loving their outdoor time foraging and dustbathing. So glad its finally warm enough, crazy NE weather.
We are almost done with our coop! Hopefully have everyone settled outside by the 19th. They will be 6 weeks old and it shouldn't drop below 50 anymore! Fingers crossed
Ugh it's been terrible! My ducks are currently in a pack and play in the garage, with daily swimming lessons and the chicks are gonna need to move into my downstairs shower I think They are getting so big! Our coop is 25sqft, with 5 nesting boxes, and 2 roosting bars. We will have a 8×10...

Thank you so much! We are so excited for our new adventure. The chicks and ducks are so much more personable then I would have ever imagined! trying to teach our children the value of being self sustaining. We are from RI. That is great advice and I will certainly search my area!
