My theory is that when you slit the neck it makes them unconscious in nearly seconds due to the rapid blood loss. I am assuming they essentially just pass right out. Is this true?

Well the orpington is mean to me not really the hens. I care more about which one will make better DP crosses.

The freedom rangers from JM hatchery...are they sustainable? Can I keep hens and roo's and have chicks. I do understand they are hybrids but a meat chicken to meat chicken should make a....meat chicken. I don't care if they are broody, I have other hens and an incubator... Has anyone ordered...
