Well,
Believe it or not I caught the hawk that has killed 10 of my chickens in the last month. How far do I have to take him to release him away from my girls?

I am proud to say that I got a border collie/ i think spaniel mix (they said she was a lab mix) from petfinder.com and she is great with the chickens. I am presently teaching her to round them up for me and she can come right up on them and not hurt them. Bunnies might be another story, she...
I would raise him up. At least you know what your getting and at the first sign of aggression you can get rid of him. I had a little roo that tried to jump on my back when I bent down to feed the girls. He was only a few weeks old. Got rid of that little helion quick. Now I have a new flock...
I am putting 6 week old chicks in the coop with a heat lamp, if the cold outside the coop is 38 degrees will the heat lamp be enough for them?
Thanks,

Thanks,
J

I have had two chickens come up with a bubbly eye and one closed. I have cleaned them and treated them with triple antibiotic ointment. What is this and do I need to treat the flock. The antibiotic seems to help and clear it up, but I don't want to contaminate the whole flock.
Thanks,
J
Okay,
It is very cold here in New Jersey and I have 30 babies coming in two weeks. If I put them in the dining room, are they going to permanently stink up my house?

The hens are the roo have all grown up together, but he is coming into his own. He just started crowing. They are all from about June. I'm not even sure if the rooster did this, I just find it strange that two chicken have come up with similar wounds in 4 days. Do you think it's the roo. I...
