The Migratory bird act was actually pretty straightforward and found by someone who doesn't work for the Canadian Government. Some of the prohibitions don't apply to me so its ok. Thanks for your input
The Migratory Birds Convention Act of 1994, correct? Thank you so much for actual information! It's frustrating when ya can't get a straight answer. Local Fish & Wildlife wasn't much help other than a fascination about warning me about not hunting out of season. (I don't hunt, lol) Do you know...
I appreciate your assistance but I really need answers from someone familiar with Canadian laws, Alberta in particular. I know 100% you mean well but the local rehabilitation centres are generally on volunteer basis with no authority whatsoever and are unable to show me the actual laws regarding...
Hi everyone! I've spent quite some time searching for the legalities regarding raising Canadian geese in Canada without much luck. It seems like there's a lot of contradictory information. Is it legal to incubate/raise/rescue/hatch/own Canadian geese in Canada? Could anyone lead me in the right...
Since I hatch, rehab and literally live with birds for a living. It's important that I treat them well and maintain their health. This lil girl came to me with multiple health issues including not walking, underweight, no egg laying and blood in feces. Terrible case of roundworm!
Her diet...
Hi! Here's an article I'd like to share that used an actual scientific method conducted by the Centre for Sustainable Food Systems of the University of British Columbia.

It's a long great read and includes some great information on the...
Huh. I guess my experience AND research means less than your opinion. That's cool.
I'm the second person in this thread to recommend you do a little research. Learning things can be fun!
I'd like to share some actual experience about diatomaceous earth. See the fella in my picture? While we were doing some gardening, he discovered a large bag of diatomaceous earth and by the time I got to him, his head was completely covered with the stuff and he was blowing it from his...
I love them all, lol. At the moment I'm hatching Indian Runners, Cayugas and Welsh Harlequins. The Welshies earned a special place in my heart after rehabbing this lil guy back to good health.
This is just my opinion but a large part of your flocks behaviour depends on you and your...
I think you're a sweetheart for thinking about what your bird would want. :~)
The fella in my profile and I would run down a small hill, flapping our wings and having a great time! I was well aware that he was unable to fly but he still enjoyed doing it!
Hi! I'd suggest letting ducklings mature a little on their own before the introduction.
I've had hens kill ducklings. It can happen quickly and its an awful feeling! A few ducklings in a pet carrier near the girls can keep things safe and help you gauge reactions if you have your mind set.
