Coturnix quail egg zipped half way, alive, beak sticking out - yellow/orange membrane? Help.

Yes, I would say it's a humidity issue. I personally have helped mine like this with no issues but there was no sign of blood and the yolks had all been absorbed.

    Can anyone explain why ?

Glad I found this thread. That's the thing with BYC, they keep all the info from past years so there is a wealth of knowledge without having to be repetitive. Had my little yellow chick pop out this morning. Think it's pretty neat, he or she will get a special place in the flock 💗

Beware ebay seller nit selling pure Ayam Cemani eggs

Thank you, I definitely have. So sorry you got took also. Lesson learned for sure. It just really upsets me this guy is throwing his NPIP status around and doing this. Through search and internet, I now have his name and NPIO #, not that it helps but I'd gladly share it.

    Ayam Cemani Fraud?

I got took on ebay myself. Got secure in the fact the guy is an NPIP inspector in Olney ILL but he does not sell quality birds. He may have them but that's not what u get. People, please buy from reputable breeders with positive feedback after u see the chicks. This breed needs to be guarded.

Beware ebay seller nit selling pure Ayam Cemani eggs

I purchased 12 hatching eggs from ebay seller rareturk and it is my opinion that this seller is not doing any favors for this breed or selling pure ayam Cemani eggs. I left feedback on eggs condition upon arriving. Based on feedback and seller claims that these are pure greenfire farms stock, I...

Do welsummers really lay black eggs ???

I have Ayam Cemani and have never had a black egg. They are cream colored. Google does show dark eggs with their pictures but this is false. The only bird to lay this dark of egg is an Emu.

MAKE IT STOP CHIRPING!!! Can't trouble shoot.

It does not want to be held, it is not being bullied but IS pecking at others. It will not lay and sleep...

New babies-not sure of the breed

I do but only because it has the exact same markings and color as my babies. Also I would be secure in the fact that a member who has a lot of knowledge on here seems to think so as well. Enjoy yur feather babies, hope they are all hens & wishing you many dozens off eggs!

New babies-not sure of the breed

CUTE!! They all seem to be feathered out & look the same as the ones I hatched out Feb 15-19 So they look to me about 1 1/2 months, is my guess. But it is a GUESS. I guarantee you the great people on here can get you as close to a day or two on age. These members are SO smart! And the brown is...

    Any ideas for some toys

What a great idea & question to ask! It may seem funny but mine chase a laser pointer thinking its a bug flying around. VERY good exercise & entertaining too! I do throw in some meal worms as treats for their efforts.
