Hi all..just a little info about myself..
My name is April, I am 37 years old and reside in Bella Vista Arkansas. I formerly lived in CT and recently moved here for a change of pace and scenery, and can say I absolutely love it! Would have, should have done it sooner! I currently own 3 pigeons...
Just a quick question..What do turkeys eat besides chicken food as I would told when I purchased him? Do they eat vegetables and fruits? Any feedback would be appreciated..I want my baby to have the best!!!
Think this would work to hatch some gambel quail eggs? The incubator is used to hatch cockatiel eggs and it can be adjusted according to him for different birds. What do you all think? This is my first time ever hatching any kind of eggs! I was going to buy an incubator but this would save...
Either that or its a feral cat. I have seen feral cats that act agressive also. Could be the cat was trying to take it's next meal. Definantly be careful letting your chicken outside until something can be done about it.
LOL she looks mean...that look on her face is priceless...I wish I could teach my d'uccles to attack like that..I would be the talk of the town rofl!!!
Thanks for the replies everyone! Yes..I am going to work with them and see if I can tame em down a little. They are the cutest things to boot..one even has chipmunk cheeks with the little tufts of feathers! You just want to kiss his face but you dont dare too LOL! Hopefully, I can get them so...
It may seem comical, but I would be weary of gunshot revenge. Who is to know if the neighbors wouldnt be completely vengeful and take it out on the roosters. I am not sure I would be completely comfortable allowing someone to take my pets to be used for such a service. Bad idea.
Well finally got the roosters of my dreams..two beautiful D'uccles! But despite how beautiful they look their attitudes dont match! One is determined to shred my hand (yes he bit me hard enough to make it bleed) while the other flaps around like i'm going to murder him (found this all out when...
How very touching indeed. The world is a much warmer place with caring people like yourself helping animals who cannot but endure the cruelties of man silently. I am sure every waking day you are rewarded with the love they have to share.
I am very sorry for what happened but sometimes we have to do whats right to ease the pain. She isnt suffering anymore and I am sure she lived the best of a life with you. I do indeed know what its like to love a chicken and have them be a part of them family because if something happened to...
Wow great read. I am so happy she's better now and enjoying life rather then being brought to a slaughter house . She looks like a wonderful little girl with so much life left. I know the hard reality is that many of them go to such a fate and maybe she could sense it and wanted to get out...

LOL how funny..yeah my pug snores too..once she snored so loudly I was surprised she didnt wake herself up! ...and between me and you she gets a little help up onto the bed but dont tell the others! They will never speak to me again!
How sad indeed. Hopefully you can do something to deter this in the future..it's an awful tragedy and like seagullplayer said..tomorrow it will be the kids once the chickens have been cleaned up.
