Well my chicks’ head was almost half submerged into the air cell if that makes sense and she hatched, I don’t really know why her head was in there but she seems to be fine so i wouldn’t worry if it looks like a head is touching the roof of the egg, which can almost look like a darkish blob.
If u candle them from the flat-ish side of egg, can you not see any sign of orange (air cell) because if you can’t they are either quitters or they have decided to put their entire head in the air cell which mine have done before 🤣😂
That’s great. Congratulations 🥳. It should be okay and figure itself out but just be cautious of not allowing the other chicks to peck the yolk or anything. 🤣
This situation is more common then u might think, firstly he needs to get some sort of sugar water in him because he hasn’t gained the nutrients from the entire yolk. I’m not sure what will happen with the remaining yolk but I have read that it can re absorb. Whatever you do DO NOT CUT IT. This...
It could be, remove the bully hen for a day and see if the one being bullied gets on well with the others, without the bully. It could be that or just moulting season. My chickens are moulting now too.
Hi Everyone, it is now day 22 of incubating my Silkie eggs, and there is nothing.
The eggs don’t seem to have moved but i candled them both and there seems to be chicks in both of them.
I had to swap incubators at about day 9 because the temperature was only reaching 35 C, and then I got the...
To be honest, there isn’t really much you can do! If you just make sure the humidity is at about 70% so the membrane doesn’t dry. Then all you have to do is be excited!! Good luck!
Oh wait sorry I just realised you meant that it had already hatched! No the chick shouldn’t disturb the egg, sometimes it helps it’s friend, by pipping but usually it will just sleep for a while!
Yay!! Congratulations 🎉 no not really, you might want to separate that one a bit just incase but I don’t think so. I can imagine you’re nervous! Please send some photos once they are out!!!
