my chickens miss laying one day, and then lay a much larger egg the next day. and its only just started lately.. it is winter over here and pretty cold... is thiis normal?
this morning when i went out to the chickens one of my chickens was trying to lay and egg but was sitting there making a horrible grunting noise.
I have never heard them making this noise and now i am a bit worried.
could there be something wrong?
they are not yet a year old but are laying and covered in feathers hehe.
they seemed alright when i put them back in their house. they were warm and dry and their combs were quite warm.
should i not be to worried?
its been raining and i went to go lock up my chickens for the night but i found the door had closed on them and they were sitting on the roof of their house saturated and upset.
they werent happy and i immediatly ran them inside and dried them off and warmed them up for at least 20 minutes...
a couple of my chickens eggs have had different things on the outside. at one stage they had alot of brown dots on it and anothe covered in white chalky type stuff..
does this have anythign to do with their diet or health or what coz i am a little unsure.
thanks!
