We have the electric mesh fencing for our chickens, it's 4' high and they fly over it all the time! However, the dogs have gotten used to it and don't go near it. The electricity is in pulses and is fairly mild, so doesn't hurt, just a little shocking (I have been zapped more than once!). It has...
I have a friend like that too, and he is always complaining and asking my advice. So I give it to him and he does nothing about his situation but continue to complain and ask for advice. i finally told him that if he wasn't willing to take any action, then I didn't want to hear about it anymore...
I can now proudly add my DD, who just began USAF basic training last week! So now we have:
Great Uncle, US Navy
2nd cousin, US Navy

I get blisters on my feet. It's called hydrophilic something or the other, can't remember the last part, but the dermatologist said it's also called blistering ecxema. Over the counter corticosteroids don't work. You have to get a prescription for the more powerful steroid creams. Mine clears up...
I had the same problem, so I got most of the run covered with a tarp the other day when it was sunny, and threw down the shavings the same day, as well as a liberal dosing of DE. The chickens scratched all of the shavings out of the run within 24 hours, and now it is nice, dry and not stinky.
half of my chickens use the designated nest box. The other half decided to fly into the rafters of the carport and lay eggs there, which then rolled off and splat! So we put an old doggie bed up there with soft blankies. They love it, and continue to escape the run and use it.
We got the electric mesh fencing, and we love it! We have it around the run for the meat chickens, and have a huge free ranging area fenced off for the laying hens. No losses yet!
We live in SW Washington state, where it rains a LOT! (Washington, we don't tan, we rust! ) We've had WB for over a year and rarely have outages. We did have a problem and it turned out to be the tree....as in the thingymabob that sticks out from the dish. We've had no problems since that was...
Okay folks, dhyatt had the nerve to join this website and tell us all off in an ignoramous sort of way, and happened to allow his email link on his post, so instead of giving it to him in the forum, how about also sending emails!? Snowball!!!!!!
My son was diagnosed with ADD/ADHD at about 2 1/2 years old. The old doctor I had taken him to told me to take him off sugar. That helped, but not completely.
Then my stepdad gave me a book called "Why your child is hyperactive" by a Dr. Feingold. I read the book, followed the elimination diet...
You're pretty awesome to do this for so many people. I would like a funny, cute chicken avatar. It would be nice to have my board name on it. You decide the rest.
And thank you!!!!!
Be VERY careful what you threaten!
When my son was about 4, my brother threatened him with a "swirly". He asked what it was, so DB told him. He ran off and came back a few minutes later with his hair dripping wet and in a swirly pattern!
We don't have trash pickup here. We are too far out in the boonies. But, we take it to the dump (about 7 miles) and it's $1 a can, plus they take off $1 for every bag of recyclables. So we pay about $3 or less every month or so, plus gas.
We have two dogs and no fences. Lost one chicken to a hawk when it was a teen. I lock the chickens up at night, though.
The blue jays and the crows run off the hawks.
Nope, she justs has them here and gets to spoil them when she's here. Turns out her aunt, who she lives with, doesn't want them. Says they are too much mess and hassle! HA!
One of my daughters friends is Faith Princess. My mom was named Marvel, and she named my sisters Avonelle and Tracy, my name is Germaine, and my brother is Delbert Ross.
