well my redsexlinks started to lay. i am not sure weather it was there age or that fact that i put a light in the coop that comes on at night and morning to give them more daylite. instead of getting 4-6 eggs a day i am getting 16-18 a day.
a short time ago i seen something about feeding alfalfa cubes. so being new to this i tryed it. at first i just put cubes in run. they did not like them. so i soaked them in water for a day before i put in run. they went wild over them. i give them this treat about once every 3 days. a lot...
my hens are not freerange. they are in coop and run all day. i have 2 feeders that i put 1/2 a bag in each one 40lb bag 20lb in each one. it takes them about a wk to empty each one. am i feeding to much feed and can i cut back on the amount i put in feeders with
out hurting them or egg...
i bought 10 red-star cks that were about 10-12 wks old about 8 wks ago. i thought i would be getting eggs by now. is there any way to tell how old they might be just by looking at them. they have doubled in size since i got them.
