x2 it has to be food grade DE. i use it to dry things up in the spring or if there is a huge amt of poo in their coop. i don't use it all the time and i haven't had any issues with bugs/pests.

i had the same issue for a bit. i added more calcium and gave them less table scraps and they bounced back within a couple of days. i'll still get one from time to time, but not like i was.

ok, thank you! i had been searching, but for the wrong thing! i think it was just intestinal lining (i had been searching blood clots), but it sure seemed like a lot. i have been checking on them all morning and they all seem just fine. whew! no one told me having chickens would be so stressful
