If I can sex the darn things by then, I'll be bringing my EE cockerals (and maybe pullets if I end up with a ton by luck). Oh, and two crazy boys which are definately, definately for sale (as of today).
I know the person who was there Saturday may not see this, but heck, I'll try.
I bought a comet and a black star from someone (sorry, I didn't get a name) but he had them in styrofoam coolers. So, question. They were marked as 6 weekers, but I don't know if they're actually that old or if...
It was nice to 'see' a few people today. I was there really early and scored some fudge as well as a black star and a golden comet. They're the same size as my EE's and everyone seems to be getting along ok.
My 10 month old was up half the night, I seriously thought about logging on at 2 and thought, 'nah, they'll all be sleeping'. Guess I was wrong
Going to get the new small brooder set up and a transportation box ready. Then I've gotta pack up the kids which is by far the hardest part.
I told...

Bring me two goldens
I want the brahmas but think the sex link will do better with my EE's.
Ok, now I don't know. DH wants a black chicken and thinks a brahma would be 'cool'. So, uh, better just bring them all
It's tomorrow!!!
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
When I casually mentioned to DH yesterday that we were getting two more chickens, he said 'ok'. I'm sure I could talk him into 4 once we get there....
I've been trying to ignore all the fudge talk. Really. I've been good, yes? But, um, it's only two days away and now I'm not sure if I'm more excited about the chicks or the fudge.
Yummmmmmmmmmmmmm
I was thinking of grabbing two of those brahma's until I saw how big they get. My golly, I guess I wouldn't have to worry about my cats I should probably stick to something closer to the EE's size since it's going to be a small flock, right? Of course, they could keep the EE's warm
I picked up 6 unsexed EE's yesterday! When I told hubby I still had to come to the show to get two more pullets (so I'd definately have a few girls this fall) he was surprised, to say the least I don't think he was planning on 8 LOL.
Send me pullet vibes, I need them! I'll have to do some...
I have this horrid fear that I'm going to go up and there won't be any chickies for me. I've been looking at ordering online but I only need 4, not 25. I don't want to be heartbroken
This is insanely stressful but I'm ridiculously excited.
I hate stupid people, and stupid cops are at the top of that list.
My land borders Coggshall (huge park) so I'm going to have to really protect this run. It's going in the woods/treeline so digging through all those roots is not my idea of fun.
I have tons of wild turkeys, they literally...
Is anyone bringing any EE's to Milford? If so, which hatchery?
I saw that there will be some in April, so I can wait till then (and call dibs LOL) if need be.
Anyone bringing stars?
I'm so torn. I'm trying to convince myself that if I can get the darn tractor at least planned out, so that I can move them outside on warm days that it'll work. I have an unfinished basement and I was thinking that once they feathered out a good bit I could use it to acclimate them. So I...
My husband is in more trouble than he realizes, isn't he?
Ok, I think I'm going to rule out any breeds/chicks that can't be accurately sexed when I'm looking to buy them. So, unless someone ordered some pullet EE's and is selling their extra, they're hard to sex right, right? Wow, that was...
