We had one Silver Sussex chick do the same thing. I thought it was so bad I would have to cull. Then like yours, the next day he was fine!!! I think sometimes it takes them a few hours to build up the strength needed to straighten up.
I would sure hope everyone could handle it.
You NEED me to send you some to hatch. ;)
Thank you.
Biggest most important thing that I can recommend after building four similar to this is to make one side open up full width for cleaning. I cant say enough to stress how muck easier this makes...
The lighter ones are pullets and darker with head spots cockerels. This is per nicalandia here https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/727364/a-bielefelder-thread/380#post_13232925
I will for as long as they are here, the pullets are all promised away already. I am trying to decide if I will hatch...
Mostly still just lurking in the shadows here. But I just have to share....................... Sex linked...........
BLUE ICE CREAM BARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, but it is funny....
Of the roosters we have raised so far all have been pretty fair sized before crowing. We have not processed any yet but I think most LF would be a decent carcass by first crow. Otherwise we have sold quite a few roos to locals looking for meat birds.
Good luck with the auction. I think you made a good choice of incubators, we have two. I bought them after doing extensive research, they also have been running trouble free since December. Hatching is so much fun and chicks are so cute, you better have a plan.
Yeah we gotta get them out of there. We started hatching in December and that is the only evenly heated room in the house. My wife is gonna kill me I think.
All night long. We really have got to move the incubators out of the bedroom!!!! Pure Cream Legbars and Bielefelder crosses, I will post up pics when they all hatch. Our biggest set ever 20 eggs!!!! All our hatches from our own eggs have been 95-100% so expecting lots of new chooks.
Chirp...
I am putting a feeler out here for Bielefelder cockerels, does anybody want one? We have ten and only plan to keep two. They range in ages from seven to seventeen weeks. We planned to process the extras but if someone wants or needs one................................
Id bet it is. I will get a pic when we crack it open.
Thank you, and it is, she normally lays a regular extra large egg. I was so surprised when I opened the nest box door!!!!
