Im liking this little black cockerel. I have a bunch his age running around, but he seems like the front runner.
I need a backup rooster,im looking for another blue, but this black is looking good! Heres my rooster, plus the little black cockerel.
Thanks for looking!
Some of the younger crew that have come from my own pen. Excuse the lavenders please.
I think I have that chicken math thing going on. April 2013 I started with 4 chicks. As of today I have somewhere over 100 birds of all ages. Not really seeing an end in sight either. Ha.
It really was your lucky day. It's funny but I got one of each in the black BLRW and the hen is my favorite of all my BLRW. When the sun is on her feathers they remind me of velvet. Her name is Audrey ( Hepburn ).
Not in Foleys league but pretty non the less.[/quote
Very pretty.
That was some nice luck.
Will you be bringing birds to Louisville for sale? I'm only 1.5 hours away from there, and just lost my UofA blues(think that's what there called?) The blue egg layers. So I thought I might give your sbel a try.
I purchased my blrw directly from Mr.Foley, and his birds...
Im in Cincinnati,Oh. Bit of a drive, but I would be glad to help. I have a few nice black cockerels now. These birds blow me away with there good looks. Best of luck in your search.
Now that you brought up the shifting,I took a hard look at all my blrw.
I would like to look into that more. I noticed 2 of my original 5 pullets ended up being egg bound. Is this something others have noticed with the blrw? Thanks all.
Thanks. I was able to get my stock from imo 2 very good breeders of these birds. Same lines, but def from different stock. Now we will see how bad I can screw them up at first.haha.
The lacing on this girl is looking very crisp. For that im happy, but can anyone talk about the coloring on the neck area. I think we want to stay away from the brassy color if not mistaken? What color are the breeders shooting for? Thanks in advance.
