We lost our first bird, a Hen Rouen. She layed nice blue eggs. Found a pluck site right next to the neighbors pond they frequent. Close to all the feathers, some of the guts and an egg, not a single bone. Seems most likely a bird of prey. Don't know any other animal that would leave the egg...
Well, the plan was to butcher the smaller drake which in now chasing, my wife think that's soo cute :-/ especially when he leads the charge to the front porch for everyone to come poop on. Also the other day, I saw them mating out light colored female. So I guess now its to the big drake but I...
Well we got them when they were over a week old they were never keen on being held and we didn't push the issue as much as we should so thats why it won't let me pick it up, but its not chasing with its head down, video soon to follow.
One of our drakes has started a new behavior, he will chase me and the try to get in front of me and cut me off, he won't let me pick him up or touch him, its odd

The odd thing is its seems like only the one female is being mated as well as encouraging it with the head bobbing, the other female isn't seeing any action.

Just let the ducks out this morning and my 2nd duck's bill has started turning olive at the center, she's never quacked a lot but I have heard her quack... the two drakes peep for sure, they're just over two months old and they seem to be starting to molt as well.
I'm excited to see them grow, eventually they'll free range and have access to the pond/marsh. With 2 males, 2 females, should we take a drake this fall for supper or is that a good number? My wife hopes that we won't have to butcher them, but Duck is good. Their use to be a really good Spicy...
