Woo Hoo Kellyn!! And what cute chickies!!
Also, am I the only one no longer receiving updates? Very strange.
Twentynine, I too am conflicted regarding the Easter Hatch. I now have 31 chickens INSIDE my house. It ain't pretty. It's getting up to about the mid 40's during the day here, so...
TinaK, so glad for your wigglers, hope you have some success! CoopsGoneCrazy, I'm was about to drive over and drop off a chick, but it does look like you are a bit out of the way. Wanna meet halfway? I should be there by Tuesday. ;)
And then there were 7! One hatched that I hadn't really...
I have a chick!! I have a chick!! :weee AND 5 as in FIVE! additional pips!
Bring on the M& M's!!
Happy Birthday Wolftracks!!
TinaK: sending you some good vibes for your ducklets, please post how you make out.
Kellyn, thanks for all the great info, sorry about your Australorp :(.
Narry a pip at my end. Could hardly leave the house today, wanted to stay with my ear glued to the bator.... willing it to chirp. All these great photos!! And successful first hatches, boo yah!!
My pictures are not nearly as fluffy n cute:
One silent bator.... notice the M & M...
Kathyimo! Awesome pics! And thank you for posting them, I show pics like that to my DH and it makes the few I have in the bator seem like nothing.
Still nothing happening here. :(
I keep looking in the bator, and the eggies keep looking back. Keeping their solemn expressionless...
So Not a silly question! It's probably not an issue, but if it's really upsetting you - Here's what I would do... If I was close by and watching, I'd leave it unless I saw distress and then risk opening the bator and moving it away from the wall. If I wasn't going to be close by, I might just...
apron strings, how cute!!!
Kefiren.... Ummmm, go with it? Sorry, no words of wisdom for you, but if you've got a pip, you're doing something right!
HortonFarms, so sorry, that's so awful to get this far n have them die :(
We are locking down tonight. Been taking care of my Marans baby all...
I raised my humidity last night but don't officially lockdown until Wednesday. DS thinks some of the clear eggs have potential, so they've been granted a stay.
One of my BCM chicks from the NYD hatch is seriously ill Imaybe cocci? I got it some meds this morning, but when I got home she was...
TinK: Thank You Thank You Thank YOU!!!! I have not been able to load pictures since the change, now I know that I need to use a different computer to get the screen you posted.
I can NOT wait to post the pics of my chickies!!
KefireN: Great Poem!!
Twentynine: hang on tight, sounds like quite a ride.
Did a more thorough candle of my EE's last night and every single one looks clear. I am now down to 11 eggies. :(
Day 18 for me is technically Wednesday, but my New Years Day Chicks started hatching on day 18. I...
Don't be sad. Every egg is a gamble and a potential 'gift'. Veining is fantastic! Don't worry about lack of water, plenty of people don't add any water at all until day 18 'Lockdown'. You should be fine. :D
After candling I've got:
Bantam Mille Fleur Cochins (6). All good
EE's (10) -3 clear
English Orpingtons (12) 9 clear. :(
White Leghorn/Barred Holland Cross (2). - 1 was waving! I am naming her smarty pants.
So I'm left with 18, although I won't remove clears until lockdown, unless something...
Hello and Welcome Rsleghorn! Your post inspired me to get colorful!
I've decided that I just can't wait until Tues (day 10) to candle, I'm waiting for the whole family to be present, and then we'll have a look see!
Congrats Horton! Now, do you have 6 incubators, or are you running a staggered hatch? I'm holding steady at 100 degrees, humidity is right around 20 - I'm trying a dry hatch to see if it increases my percentages.
Barrack and Obama... That's funny.
I believe that same farmer, or maybe his brother lives right down the way from me, could we be neighbors? I'm not sure if he owns a razor or shampoo for that matter, but some gorgeous looking birds running around. I got some EE's and Silkie eggs $2 a dozen...
NotaFarm: thanx for posting the pictures of my future bantams! =D
Kellyn: Awesome incubator!!
Kefiren: I've got my 21 chicks in a baby swimming pool using poster board to extend the sides so the little buggers don't fly out. They are two weeks old. I think I have two more weeks before I...
