Pete I hope your weather spring of 2013 is far better than this year. Marty you know you wont be capable of resisting setting eggs again. (all of my bators are up and running again, we tend to hatch October - June with some time off around Christmas)

Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

Marty, geese are seasonal layers. Climate will have an effect on them laying as well age and light. You NEVER add artificial light trying to force laying in geese. They have a natural clock and you just don't want to screw with it. Some breeds lay more than others even though they are all...

Just lovely. Tucker and Caboosh both have nice necks and heads with the white breaking the buff pattern. I like churches side profile and his saddle is nice too. I agree on your thoughts of donut having too much buff. It's very interesting how the different breeds have characteristics to...

Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

Hey Marty, busy busy around here as always. Picked up a new goat yesterday, he isn't even 3 weeks old and being bottle fed. Should make a good first herd sire around here. Get some pictures of your crew soon please? Would love to see how they are all doing. The boys wing feathers, he could be...

Plant, no I haven't read enough benefits to do it for the geese. Juveniles and adults get straight grains with their Mazuri waterfowl.

aaa... I feed wheat to the adults. Actually everything we feed is listed on the farms website. I update it as we make changes. Rolled and crimped oats are cheaper in bulk from the feed store rather than feeding old fashioned oats. (quacker quick oats is not the same) I don't buy crimped ever as...

Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

Aaa, I don't soak feed before giving it to goslings. I only offer rolled oats though, no wheat, and only when their wing feathers start growing in. When looking at goslings who are 1 & 2 months old it's important to make sure they are moving normally, there are Wong issues going on, and they...

Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

We won't sell just females, everything is sold as straight run, pairs or single ganders if we have any. So your options would be to buy straight run or a pair, but if you know for certain you have a gander already I wouldn't sell you a male/female pair because that wouldn't be fair to the girl...
