Yeah, I hate seeing obese dogs. Especially those with long backs and short legs like dachshunds, bassett hounds, heelers, or corgis. All it takes is withholding some kibble and getting them some more exercise, no big deal, they'll live🙄

Same thing with my roo and his little girls with big floppy combs. His turns purple when it gets cold, theirs remain bright red. I think he's just so big that the blood is elsewhere, the girls are so small and don't deal with circulation issues like he does.

My understanding is that black coloration doesn't occur until after the tissue is dead. Right? She would need more circulation to help the early stages of frostbite. The waxy feeling I'm talking about comes before black.

Have you had freezing temps? In humans frostbite is waxy. The tips of her comb look waxy to me. I've never dealt with frostbite before tho:hmm
