Do you have a laundry basket? Try putting some yummies under a laundry basket outside for the bird to go into. Once it gets in you can throw a towel over it to be safe but most of the time the bird would just panic trying to get out not knowing how to.
I'd always feed my Greater vasa parrot cooked rice and cooked pumpkin seeds She loved em'! Some fruits as well. Maybe even wild bird feed or chicken feed would do the trick.
Do u by any chance have a small cage the bird wouldn't be able to squeeze through? I'd try putting some feed in a cage or even a box on it's side and catch it the ol' fashion leprechaun way with a stick and a piece of string. If you were able to get close enough to grab its tail try and sneak up...
