LM probably would be a good idea to put something smaller along the bottom of your chain link, when our hens had their first chicks hatch we had the same problem with the welded wire the chicks would go through and the mamas would have a fit trying to get them back inside. we used the plastic...

Well I'm a day late and a dollar short but wanted to share pics of a feeder a friend found for me at an antiques store. I added the candles.

I have 14 hens and 5 nest boxes and only 3 being used but today only 2 of the boxes are being used. I read somewhere 4 hens to a nest box. but i don't think they meant at the same time.

That is so sweet, I go in to see if mine are through laying and if someone is in the nest box they always have shaving on top of their heads and backs.

That is one of the reason i haven't gotten a cat again is because of chicks I thought that would be way to tempting for a cat.
