Can you video Bitty trying to make noise? How long ago since the surgery? I’d think if there was something stuck Bitty would be able to eat or swallow very well. Do you offer grit not in food but in a separate bowl?

The problem with having drakes and no ducks for them to mate with is they will want to mate with your hens and guinea hen you would have to keep the drakes separated from the females. They would be fine together though . Or get them a few ducks each.

I can see that Show Rouens are shaped so much different than pet quality. and being heavy they could break their eggs unless they were sitting on Muscovy eggs. May they are thick shelled. I sure look forward to seeing your trio. When you say bred does than mean the drake and females aren't...

I can't vouch for the Rouens but My Muscovy's haven't started laying yet either. They are seasonal layers in most places so we should start to see eggs soon. @mommacassey

Most domestic ducks don't fly especially the heavier breeds. but there is always an exception to this rule. lol

Mine love mud all I usually hear is sluppering lol I guess they must be getting something out of it. I do know that they love to dabble so maybe it is fulfilling that part of their nature. They sure are pretty love the one giving you an ear full. lol @Sowas Ark Welcome to BYC.

I forgot to tell you I am sorry about your duckling, I know preds need to eat I just wish they'd go after any thing but our birds. I think your going in the right direction by making your coops safe from them and placing obstacles i n the way so the snakes can't burro under. You might find some...

This had to be a pretty big snake? My Muscovy's will eat small snakes but they are scared of large ones. We have 6' and under blk snakes here and they want no part of them.Okay I see you said 5' well I don't think Muscovy's will be any good and they don't make much noise so they aren't going to...
