My Sumatra lays maybe 4-6 eggs a week. Mine just doesn't like to be held, she is a little assertive but a good hen. Good luck with her!

Hmm okay thanks. I have a JG/BSL cross rooster, he is twenty weeks, and still no crowing or anything. Does anyone have a sumatra rooster that's pretty mellow with other birds they would ship to MI? Not for sure yet, I just want to see if there even is one out there. :)

Do sumatra males get along well with other breeds of roosters?

The Sumatra is critically endangered(http://www.livestockconservancy.org/index.php/heritage/internal/conservation-priority-list), so they are kind of rare.

What does a broody Sumatra look like? Mine checks out the nest boxes at night, sitting on the golf balls. But she's just not.... Well, poofy. And how broody are Sumatra?

I would love to hatch Sumatras, but I don't know what I would do with the roosters, considering they need to have proper spacing. The last time I rehomed roosters, it didn't work out at all for me and the roosters. Are they okay meat birds if I could muster the courage to cull one? Raven...

I don't have a rooster, I guess by other chickens are bullies :/ I have left eggs in the box for 3 days, Raven is being cute on them :P

Why is Raven so... Ugly? What do you feed your birds to make them look pretty? Raven looked like this since I got her last year. She hasn't started molting either...
