    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

I sell all 3 colors right now and don't have a big issue with it. Some prefer the blues but will take the splash and black to fill the amount they want. Once the twmps warm up a bit here I will keep some blues back foryself to grow out this year. I normally grow out all winter but didn't this...

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

I've never had the darker combs all be one sex or the other in mine, nor have any pullets had any early pink to the comb. I would say first part would be great news with the later being even more frustrating.

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

I don't seem to have an issue sexing them. If there is any pink to comb even if wattles are late development its a Cockerel. The pullets don't get any color until much later. I do also notice cockerels have slower feather development than the pullets, if late tails, always a Cockerel.

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

Oh yes, I have 4 hens and all are broody. I actually had 5 but just recently lost one due to being so broody she wouldn't go eat or drink and with the high temps we had I'm sure she dehydrated herself besides being one of my last older hens, poor girl. I keep pulling them and try to give them...

Are you sure they are BLR? They look more like Barnevelders and have double lacing.

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

Oh that's only part of the bad time I've had with my birds. In July I went on vacation to Kentucky and left my SIL to care for my birds. Our hottest week of the year and never came and watered or fed the birds, came home to over 500 dead along with my first Foley cock. Then 2 days before Xmas a...

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

I never said I purchased chicks from Jerry. I had boughten pullets and cock last year. Thru some incidents I lost that cock and bought 2 more cockerels. I had a mink attack which took my very promising cock and then in Feb a coyote not only took my last cock but my ducks and most of my SFH's. I...

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

They are suppose to have a rose comb. They look more like a blue laced gold/orange than a red in color. Will be backyard birds.

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

This is where people are getting misinformed about the BLRW, blame Murray McMurray for that one. Had the same misinformation pop up on the BLRW FB page a few weeks ago. I see all the fun happens while I'm sleeping and can't respond. Glad all of you popped in to help correct this. I wish they...

The lightest color variety of these are the Splash version of the BLR. The Blue and black can sometimes be tricky to distinguish.
