Just regular 1100 gallon stock tank in the ground, no turtles here or aquatic predators. My pigs are sure happy each time I find one, at least nothing goes to waste here.
Found two dead ducks in my duck pond past week, one drake and one hen so far. It isn't predators, since it's right next to my LGD and he isn't or doesn't have interest in any of the birds.
Time to put cameras up...
I need to do time lapse problem is the software to do it on the camera is tablet or phone only not PC and my tablet got hit by a falling 2 x 6 board that took it out.
Yes they do. The geese lead the way and one or two guards the door till I close it. I need to set a video of it as it's not all at once, but they go. Ducks and geese are imprinted on each other and the guinea fowl are imprinted on the ducks on where to go.
Before I get anymore ducks as I want to soooo bad I need to get my water situation assorted out. With that said time to prep for pigs. I got a pond dug for water almost finished till I blew a torque converter seal. They quoted us $67k for a well and right now it's trips to town getting 2500...
I found them! I followed those odd tracks and walked around a hill and there they were with the explanation for the odd tracks.
Apparently due to the cold weather down here they transitioned and adapted. Here they all are and accounted for :wee
Went checking on my birds since their water is freezing up and I can't find them anywhere, not one track from them. not in coop, under the coop or anywhere, guess they flew the coop for southern warmth. I did however find these tracks EVERYWHERE!, what in the world is this walking around?
I couldn't wait till Tuesday and neither can the birds, so I risked it for the biscuit and it paid off. Power is back on after putting diesel torpedo heater on it.
Our system overloaded with too much power through solar panels. Got the charge controller back online after taking two panels offline, but upon restarting that it restarts the inverter and it has since has not come back online. Right now we are powered up through jumper cables and a old analog...
Another day of -35°F with wind chills down -65°, broke ice up that was 4 inches thick with 0 eggs this morning since we lost power to Waddle Wattle Inn due to extreme cold on the inverter.
No I said "I got a hawk".
Anyways I had enough duck abuse, goose abuse, guinea fowl abuse and stuck up thinks they run the neighborhood neighbor that moved in. So I'm passing on the abuse to them and moving the birds to southern most part of my 104 acres within guinea fowl screaming distance of...
These all follow each other around (all 49) and the 5 geese sound the same since I am partially deaf from war, then you got guinea fowl going off with ducks on top of it on competing on who is loudest. I can't differentiate who is making the noise, rather irritating.
Guess wait and see who drops...
