Support Group for Abused Duck Keepers

Our system overloaded with too much power through solar panels. Got the charge controller back online after taking two panels offline, but upon restarting that it restarts the inverter and it has since has not come back online. Right now we are powered up through jumper cables and a old analog 48VDC inverter. Birds aren't getting usual light, but they are warm and still alive. Have to wait till Tuesday for tech support to open up due to holiday Monday.

Hopefully they get it fixed Tuesday

Does anyone have any or know anyone who has pictures of what black, blue, white, pastel, gray, snowy, and penciled call ducklings? I ordered 1 magpie female, 1 fawn and white female, and 2 unsexed of the variety pack and they don’t have pics on their website. They’re coming between the 29th and the 31st.

Also jusssstttttttt in case I get 2 males (would be a 3:2, 4:1 or 5:0 ratio) do you think 2 call males and 3 normal sized females would be fine, or would I need to separate them?

@WVduckchick has all kinds of colours of calls
She would also be good at telling you ratio

Guys earlier this morning I found a super thin shelled egg. Normally before their passing all the ducks would lay eggs infrequently normally stopping for like 2-3 days after cleaning the brooder on the weekend and then sporadically. I cleaned the brooder on I think Saturday or Sunday and then she laid her first egg after cleaning today. When I saw it I took it out and threw it away and it was super soft. Now it’s slightly crispy after drying, but should I be worried about more thin eggs? I just bought oyster shell pieces for the first time and gave some to her in a little container the night I cleaned the brooder. This is the thinnest egg she’s ever laid and it’s after giving her oyster shells so theoretically the opposite should have happened. It’s so thin it reminds me of a snake egg. It was open a little when I found it because of how thin it was

On a side note, she likes them, but should I also limit how much oyster shell she gets per day if she always eats the whole thing? Is too much oyster shell bad?

I think all that’s left in it is the yolk

Went checking on my birds since their water is freezing up and I can't find them anywhere, not one track from them. not in coop, under the coop or anywhere, guess they flew the coop for southern warmth. I did however find these tracks EVERYWHERE!, what in the world is this walking around?View attachment 3728610
