For me, it’s been sit, down, stay, heel, leave it, and touch (serves as an attention-grabber). Like BC said, recall is KEY. I’ve had many instances where recall possibly saved my dogs’ lives😮‍💨 😅.

He is a lot more reactive on leash. How do I fix that? Some say to use a prong collar, but I’ve heard others tell me that it would be cruel. What methods would you all prefer? Ok, got it!😊

Yeah, that particular dog has always been the more frightful and skittish one of the group. So far, I am guessing that he’s probably scared. :)

How long will it take (approximately) to get to the point of him being able to completely ignore other dogs?

Just came back from the park a while ago. He was okay at ignoring the other dogs from a distance; he just didn't like it when they took him by surprise (i.e. running, coming out of nowhere, unexpected behaviors, etc.). Hopefully he isn't truly aggressive?:D

How do I know if he is truly aggressive and not just scared?🤔

@chickentrains, would you think that it would be okay to let my aggressive dog meet another dog individually off leash? Perhaps it could help him to realize they're not a threat...?:idunno

Hmm...Mine is tricky. He LOVES toys over treats at home, but doesn't care as much for it with distractions.

Not all dogs will get to the point of being able to play with other dogs.:D

But I do have one question... What am I supposed to do once he starts to react(as in from a distance)? Bringing him away will only reward the behavior, so do I just stay and say "no"?:hmm

Yep. I tried to do that a few times. He sometimes just ignores the treats. Planning on bringing chicken next time.:hmm

Anyone experienced joint problems with their dogs? How do you prevent it and how to treat it or at least make it more comfortable for the dog?
