    September 2015 Hatch-A-long!!

If they are zipped, I would let them warm up and then help them out. Don't give up hope. I had a duckling that I thought had died zipping. I put it in the garbage. The next morning my garbage was peeping.

Day 21 starting here but they are jersey eggs and I ran the temp about 99 so I might have to wait a couple of days. Candled 1 quickly last night and they are dark with good air cells so heres hoping.

Is your hygrometer accurate?  20's is low to have small air cells...    Have your temps been low?  Low temps usually delay hatching.   Good luck!  I really want to see those buttercups! Thank you!  My mother started that quilt before she passed away, and I'm going to finish quilting it.  My...

Day 14 here. Had to turn the bator down a touch, they are starting to create a little heat on their own. Out of 8 eggs I think I have 7 that look good. 1 looks off. I will candle again on day 18 to make sure.

All I do for humidity is spray water in the plug holes with a spray bottle. I always worried that chicks would fall in water dishes or that they would hatch at night and the humidity would get too high. I have been dry hatching and our humidity sits about 40% so 4 sprays every 24 hours will keep...

I agree. I had a duck get off her nest while they were hatching. 1 duckling was half hatched and cold. Both my DH and myself thought it had died. Put it in the trash. The next morning the trash was peeping. Oscar is a week old today!

My maran eggs have all fooled me at one time or another then they all hatch. I had 5 hatch in a bator incubated with duck eggs and high humidity. They are crazy!

The strong will most likely survive. Remember inside the egg it is warmer and they are generating their own heat a bit so it might have only got down to 85 or so. And not for a very long time. I would think some will still hatch. Think positive thoughts.

I wouldnt stop hoping. What day are they on? Get it back up to temp and give it a few days and then candle. You never know. Low temp is survivable.

I have hatched maran eggs before and I have felt those too cool eggs where you think that there is no way they can be alive. Then I would discover that those eggs have pipped and hatched. Dont lose faith. Dark eggs take that little bit extra time.
