    Kiki's found horse eggs—experiment Round 2

The pasty chicks with broodies, are they being raised in the summer heat? I've always believed that pasting usually begins with dehydration but physical defects (like wry tail) can also be to blame.

Cream Legbars have crests, white ears, and barring, though. I don't see those traits either. This doesn't mean the gene didn't come from one back a few generations but they're a relatively new breed at hatcheries. I'd put my $ on the much more common EE.

They'd probably pay me to keep the kids from doing weird stuff in the background. They never miss an opportunity to photo bomb.

Looks like a pullet so far but it's too early to be sure. The brown tips just suggest baby camo and imperfect black coverage later on. The wing bow is where the male red shows up. This one is blue but same imperfect coverage and you see how the tips have less blue... And a pullet.

We don't skimp on laundry detergent or antiperspirant. :lau Seriously, not only is it humid in general in middle TN, but living by water means I feel the thickness of the air sometimes and we have patchy, dense fog seasonally. However, visiting Florida in August gave me perspective. You...

The blood smear might also have meant it was a pullet egg. Pullet eggs have a lower success rate because they are relatively small.

I'd do for the life experience, credits or not. I actually had a similar issue just moving across state lines. I had to bring my course syllabus in to prove that the class I'd taken was equivalent even though it was offered at a community college. It was literally the same class and professor...

Chickens understand the benefit of getting up high for safety while sleeping, some extend that logic to nesting. Many a chicken keeper has found their hen using a utility shelf rather than a nest box.

Choose documents. Then, the phone will take you to where it guesses you'd want. If it isn't the gallery, choose the three bars next to the header for wherever it brought you (mine came up "Recent"). That should give you a listing of options with gallery being one of them.

My mom is 5'4" and was the tallest in her family. My dad is 6'1" and his family is all taller than average. My brothers and I take after his side. Interestingly, my 6'1" brother was always tall but the 6'2" brother was shortest in his class (as was I) until a relatively late growth spurt. I...

My 12yo boys cook. It takes longer when they help, of course, and left to their own devices, they concoct some interesting things. But, cooking is a life skill they've quit teaching at school and there is no way I'm letting them go out in the world having no clue how to take care of themselves...

My grandma was some sort of nurse's aide at the hospital when she was young. She heard a joke about nurses and then went to work and repeated it because she didn't understand the meaning. "How do you tell which nurse is the head nurse? She has the dirtiest knees." And, of course, she told the...

I'm trying to remember now exactly how much it was but someone I know had their tire pressure sensor system fail and the Lexus dealership wanted something like $450/tire. He popped into Toyota JIC and they said not a problem, it was something like $125 for the whole job. Yeah.
