My bantam is broody now!! I noticed her pecking a few eggs and then rolling them like she was counting them. When I took a few from the lower nest she pecked those like "hey thats mine!"

Ive got ducks in the incubator. I ordered a lot of eggs and the seller sent me nearly a dozen Long Island duck eggs. I have a small pond so I hope they hatch. Ive never hatched and ducks before so this should be fun.!!

oh so sorry about your hen. I had a coronation Sussex I lost that way a few weeks ago. I'm sure you will miss her.

well its kind if both. My local friends have chickens and want to do some trading of eggs or chicks,. I fell in love with rare breeds and want to keep them going. I plan to sell what I don't use...mainly too many roosters, or pet breeds such as my Cochin's at the local sell. I also sell my eggs...

Ha ha...I did that to my rooster because I wanted chicks, I told him he was to rusty for those hens and I would have to replace him...let's just say he put on a show right in front of me before feeding time was done. I give my hens laying pellets and Oyster shell mixed and get eggs almost daily...
