Ooh I love his colors!!! Most of Toy's laced babies are from him and a silkie so they aren't pure serama, but they are SO stinkin cute. I just hatched 2 dozen under one of his laced mutt hens so hopefully I'll get some cute new laced hens to add to my flock.

My husband is thinking about showing this little guy. What do you guys think of him?

    American serama thread!

Do you know why this happens? I have noticed the same thing in my hatches, it's very frustrating. My problem is more towards hatch day. They are fully developed, ready to come out, but they never internally pip. 90% of my deaths are like that, it's usually anywhere from 1/4 to an 1/8 of the...

That looks super cute! What a great convert to inside coop!!! We ALMOST bought that for Karl and Palomita, but we got a sale on one with a double run - theirs is for outside =) - so not Karl has his own coop and we will give him a coupe more hens. What a handsome little man! I love his...

    American serama thread!

This is Taco, he is about half as loud as Toy. Toy is loud as crap for a serama lol. This is made MUCH worse in my house with all tile floors, the crow just reverberates and drives me bonkers. Outside, Toy's crow is quite pleasant, you can't really hear him outside of our yard, and you...

    American serama thread!

My MIL is sure if we fattened 'em up it would be like those littler personal cornish game hens! I just keep telling her to stop drooling over my little babies! Oh absolutely! Toy cracks me up. He likes to show off. Once he got the feel for his diaper, he would fly up onto the entertainment...

    American serama thread!

Toy LOVES to be up high, and so did Elena, so they would climb as high as they could. Berry is more of a low-to-the-ground kinda girl. Serama are very good at flying so having some UP space seemed to give them something to do. I give all my brooding babies LOTS of things to climb on and fly up...

    American serama thread!

Thanks! I think that's my favorite feature of his. I love anything laced, I'm all about the feather pattern! Do you have to do anything special to send eggs besides wrap them well? I never really thought about it haha. What lucky birds! I kept mine inside for a long time! I used a 6in deep...

    American serama thread!

Lol they all kind of popped out at once and suddenly my brooder is packed! I love it though, tons of little fuzz balls running around. I've been laying on the floor watching them for hours, talk about a lazy Sunday afternoon! LOL They are all from my own flock. I have no idea where all that RED...

What cute little frizzles! All different colors and everything! I've been hatching up a storm! I completely forgot to take pictures of the 12 I hatched and traded for hatching eggs! I'm so bummed, i had one that looked really cool haha But now I've got a whole bunch of little babies from m...

    American serama thread!

Holy cow that's some serious weather! We've been SUPER warm here (80s) and in the last few days the temps dropped like 20 degrees during the day and the wind picked up. Thankfully I already "winterized" my coop (as if we ever get winter here lol) so I wasn't in a mad rush, but my two young guys...

    American serama thread!

She is a first time mom. I wonder what could have happened? Her 2 chicks seemed fine when I checked on then just now, I'd like to give her more but they won't be hatching for a grew days, I'd hate her to kill anymore.

    American serama thread!

Has anyone had any luck getting their broody hens to adopt chicks? I tried with Berry a while back and she killed them all. Chip has gone broody but I been collecting all the eggs to give to a friend to hatch so I thought I'd try giving her some of the eggs in my incubator. 2 of them had...

    American serama thread!

This sounds very similar to what took my little cockerel a while back. I'm not an expert, but I would start with something sweet in water, like sugar or hummingbird food. If you can get him to drink you could try to get him to eat some scrambled eggs. Keep him warm, and keep an eye on him until...

    American serama thread!

This is my first time crossing these so I'm no expert. I only have 2 right now - but a dozen more to come over the next 19 days, hatching every 6 days or so - but these two are totally different! They both have a little fuzz bubble crown like silkies, they both have a little fuzz on their legs...

I don't know that these will actually be silkie, its just that their mom is a silkie chicken.
