Brahma Mama, No rooster. I don't think we'll ever have one due to the noise. We are going to do meat chickens though.

I didn't keep real good track of the costs. Most of the lumber and siding I had around the house, and the windows were donations. I had to buy the posts, cement, and fencing. I'd guess if I had to run out and purchase everything new it would have cost around $1500. Who keeps track of costs...

ellieroo, No, not a big box store. I own a small roofing supply yard in nevada and sell all kinds of stuff. I mainly sell the sun shades to roofers who use them as tarps for their trash trailers so when they tarp a load the wind can blow through the tarps. The tarp is actually what they call...

ellieroo, How did you secure sunshade and what wire was used to cover top of run??? The sunshade is secured with screw eyes screwed into the tops of the panel rail then light duty chain from the screw eyes to the gromets in the sunshade. There is no wire on the top of the run. Just the 70%...

We're finished with our coop and enclosure after three weekends of work and are so proud of it we wanted to share our page with everyone on this site! I don't think we would have made such a great coop without all the wonderful coop designs we checked out that are listed on this site. So here...
