Here's our experience so far: Egg production statistics

Finally, all of our birds have gotten to laying age. The last one, a Speckled Sussex named Emma, 25 weeks old, plopped out this 39 gram beauty today.

Judging by the comb and wattle development, I'd say it's the black one (reddest comb and wattles). The rock on the left will start in 2 weeks.

48g olive egg from 18w5d Araucana-BCM cross.

I have to admit, I would not want that hardboiled for breakfast But hopefully they'll get the hang of it soon.

First egg for our last Finnish landrace Alho who wasn't laying! Virpi made a nice 36g egg, as big as the biggest we've gotten from her two sisters! They're now 26 weeks old.

The better half is grumpy because I keep sending the neighbors kids to fetch eggs before she can get to them :p
