Thanks cackleberrycoop, we are having alot of fun with these. Was a fun road to get them to where they are now.. "I'm just eggstatic about them"
But i can say it was worth every bit of time and effort put into these.
First day to free range, Lf lavender araucana pen #2. they seem to like it.. little skittish though
Pen #2 consists of:
1 double tufted lav roo with tail(roo has a lil bit of silver leakage) and a bunch of completely rumpless clean faced lav hens
Pen #1 wouldn't come out yesterday...
There are a few types out there in other country's that had straight combs and rumpless but they are not here, the drenthe is one of them.
Probably Just crossbreds from the hatchery's buying up araucana and putting them in with other birds
key west chick, i thought you sounded fermilar... when i get these hens squared away i will pm you. as for cockerels as of now, I'm down to one left, so the hens may have to go by themselves at this point.

i think i have like 4-5 100% rumpless/clean-faced young...

said which would work,
there are alot of white...

Fugly is a very pretty hen, i don't recommend culling her, esp if you eat eggs then you got a brown egg layer there.
if penned with other blue laying araucana you know which her eggs are. you'll just wanna make sure your roo's from that same line are not contributing the...
the beige eggs are from a newly laying Araucana and it has me freaked out since the chicks I purchase are supposed to be from some of the best in the Country according to the breeder I got them from!!!!
you mean brown...which beige is,,, some of the supposedly best breeders aren't always the...
o i love some of my araucana girls that lay the olive drab colored eggs, makes the blue ones really pop out at you when in a carton together. Some of my egg customers love the colors.. we don't show are araucana eggs so we don't worry to much about that color here if used for eating. however...
