I’m pretty sure she is an Americauna but I don’t know the name of her feather pattern. I want more like her (her sister passed away, she needs a buddy or 5) 😊
Any suggestions on the name, how to order or where to order live chicks like her would be greatly appreciated.
I am aware that cockerels are a dime a dozen, but I wanted to make these boys available to anyone willing to rehome them. They were hatched out by a broody hen in our backyard, but the eggs came from a mixed flock of all pure breed hens and two roosters. There were two roosters in that flock...
Hi I've has chickens in the past and usually can identify a rooster in may I ordered all pullets as chicks from a reputable farm one of my girls is I think a boy need some help please
Hi, I’ve been doing some research on my chickens and the feed store labeled these two as Americaunas but I’m wondering if maybe they are Easter Eggers? They are 6 weeks old and I hope they’re both pullets, my daughter has made them big pets that eat out of her hand. Let me know what you think
Hi all! I got this girl as a day old chick from a woman who said her friend shows Ameraucaunas and gave her eggs to hatch. She’s about 9 weeks now. Do you think she’s actually an Ameraucauna, or an EE like so many “Americaunas” are? I was told she’s a Wheaton, which based on pictures, I also...
Hey guys! When my wheaten Americauna hen went broody, I searched around to see what the babies would look alike, as my grey Silkie roo was fertilizing. There wasn't a whole lot of information or pics, so I thought I'd share pictures with you.
We had 3 eggs- one never developed at all, one was...
So one of my Americaunas, Lollipop, laid an egg just before Easter and hasn't laid any since.
Is this common? It's been about a week since she last laid.
I've got all my hens in the run until around 5pm everyday and then I let them roam the acre, so I'm kind of ruling out that she might be...
Hey everyone! We just had our very first hatch four days ago (yah!) from our own chicks..but I'm very curious what they will be.. our roo is a Americauna and we have a variety of hens (these three are the eggs the babies came from)
Rhode Island red
Australorp
ISA brown
I guess I'm very curious...
Hi y'all!
The name is Katie. I have been raising chickens for two years now and have loved EVERY second of it. What started as an original flock of 5 laying hens I found on Craigslist turned to a flock of 17 in less than my first week. :D It's safe to say I fell in love with them. My husband and...
I adopted this beautiful hen and her owner did not know her breed. I’m fairly new to the chicken world so google searches have guided me to a silver americauna or an Easter egger. However, she looks more Easter egger to me? Opinions? (She should start laying any day so that may give me my answer)
I have 3 golden laced wyandottes, 2 easter eggers, a buff orpington, and a black australorp. They are just over 20 weeks now and have been on their new layer feed since about 18 1/2 weeks (mixed with their old food for a week to avoid digestive issues). I'm just wondering if there are any clues...
Hello again !
I figure why not give another weekly update on these cuties and see if we can all agree that they are .... girls ??? I hope ??? Looking for any opinions again 🥰. They are 14 weeks now! 1 is chip and 2 is Sven.
Hoping third time is the charm for these little ones ! Sven and chip are now 13 weeks old and their gender is still a debate !
Chips (1) tail has changed completely over the last week and is no longer full and large. It’s also got some new dark feathers coming in near the back. Svens (2) tail...
Hello everyone! About a week ago I posted some pics of my Americaunas ! There was quite the discussion if they were boys or girls. Everyone I consult still has mixed reviews !!!
Sorry to post again, but hoping a week has made some difference and I got some better pictures !!
They are 12 weeks/3...
Hello everyone! So I bought 8 chicks a little over a month ago, and one of them, I was told, was a Black Jersey Giant. Right off the bat, it didn’t really look like one, and I was wondering if it was an Americauna. At this point, I’m truly not sure, but I definitely don’t think it’s a Jersey...
Hi all! I am a new member and new to raising chickens. We have a sweet flock of 19 layers who are about 6 weeks old. Our sweet lavender Americana has a pretty bad Cross beak. We successfully trimmed her beak last week. She eats and drinks on her own, and holds her own (and then some!) with her...
Purchased 4/10 from TSC as a straight run bantam. Wondering if it is an Easter Egger or if someone could help identify breed? Pullet or cockerel? Shown next to standard sized chick in last photo - super tiny! Thanks!!
So I saw these chicks in the Americauna tub at my local farm store. The cashier told me they looked like buff orpingtons but maybe were put in the wrong tub... what do you guys think? They certainly look like BOrpingtons according to google images but they also look a lot like “splash”...
