Hi! Selling our mixed breed backyard chicks. The boys are hoping for $5 each, but I’m open to offers. :)
Mixed breeds, good egg layers, not show quality. Our roos are a Cochin, langshan, and Japanese bantam. Our hens are RIR, Black ameracauna, Plymouth Rock, Easter egger, Delaware, and...
I got 3 americaunas, none look like an americauna, but this one looks way different than the others! Can someone please help me figure out what chick it is? I am so stumped. I’ve never seen on with markings like this on the face. It’s got eyeliner, zig-zags, and it’s super fluffy.
Hello everyone! I’m trying my hand at a few new breeds that I’m not familiar with. I bought silkies from a local breeder, half turned out to be crested polish mixed. There is one still in question! I cannot tell what she is. She’s supposed to be pure silkie but she just doesn’t look like it! I...
We got two Americauna/Easter Egger chicks hoping at least one would be a hen (we were tricked because "she" started crowing this week). Just shy of 6 months old. They aren't aggressive, one will even let us hold him :love Located in Louisiana, but could drive to Mississippi if needed.
I have two Americaunas that are 5 1/2 months old. I knew Coopcake was a rooster from the time his wattles started to show, but was sure Popcorn was a girl. She doesn't have wattles, just a bunch of fluff on her cheeks and neck. But yesterday, I realized she was crowing. Does she think its funny...
Is this an Easter Egger or Americauna? I just picked her up from a chicken ranch nearby where I’ve gotten a few pullets before. Was told she is an Americauna but I think Easter Egger. I don’t really care either way as I still think she’s beautiful and just enjoy my backyard chickens as a...
Hi everyone!
I have a rooster question, but of a different variety from most that you usually see. I have had chickens for over 6 years now and during that time have always had roosters. I have gone through a number of them, and already understand the basic ins and outs of raising my flock...
Meet "Big Darla," in all of her ambiguous glory: Or perhaps, "Big Daryl" depending on how things go. Sh/e's an 8-week-old Americauna (who is probably an EE), and who, despite her strikingly Dickensian beard, we were always pretty sure was a girl... Until we started seeing some suspect...
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes!! I am a new chicken mamma. My flock of 14 chicks are 8 weeks old this week.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 14
(3) What breeds do you have?
2- Frizzle
3- Silver laces wyandotte
3- Americauna...
I'm new to chickens and haven't a clue on sexing. Also curious on the breed because they're both supposed to be Americaunas, but I'm not so sure! Thanks!!
We just moved to Edmond from Duncan. We were only allowed 3 hens...well thanks to local farm stores we had roos, which were a no-no. Luckily, we knew several country folk who didn't mind a new roo here n there. We currently have 10 large ladies, 2 bantam hens, and I went to a swap meet and...
So I just got a new kiddo. A friend bought six americaunas and one of them has scissor beak. I have a lonely silkie chick (hatched myself yay!) Who was the only one to hatch. So I said I'd take her scissor beak kid. I've never had a scissor beak kid. She's a little older then my silkie. Probably...
Hi this is Chubathy, I call her that because she’s chubby and it sounds cute hahaha. I was wondering what is her Breed, i got her along with many other Americana’s.
I have Cream Legbar hens that were breed by golden Cuckoo Maran.
I also have Americauna hens bred by a Golden CixkoC Matan.
What color will the eggs be?
Is she molting or what? There are a ton of feathers falling out from one of our Americaunas so I figure it's our oldest lady molting. Let me know what you think. Thank you!
Over the summer we hatched some Americauna and blue laced red Wyandotte eggs. This is the only one we kept because we were told it was a she but I’m thinking not. The legs are so thick and the tail!
Also, what about my polish? I’m hoping Priscilla really is a she bird. I love her so!
